As we are saddened that the Christmas lights have been switched off and taken down, help us remember that hope did not come down with them.
As we are chased up Highgate by cold winds on our daily exercise, our one trip into the world today, as the rain falls on an empty Market Place or as the snow rushes through the yards, help us remember that we can be that hope.
As we are disheartened by the dark windows and locked doors of so many buildings help us remember to support local businesses and organisations in any way we can.
As we are weary help us remember that vaccines are being rolled out.
As we are frustrated by our own four walls help us remember that we can reach out to one another.
As we are anxious, help us remember we are not alone, help us to remember we are loved by one another and by You through Jesus Christ.
Help us keep each other safe, help us keep each other fed, help us lift each other up, and help us make Kendal a place of warmth, generosity and security for everyone.
Amen.
