News Bulletin From Churches Together In Kendal & District

We have received the following:

Hello Everyone

This is a news bulletin from Churches Together in Kendal and District (CTiKD) to highlight 3 important events/requirements and give a few diary dates:-

Our next planning meeting, previously known as exec meetings, is on Monday February 8th at St. George’s (Cof E) Gooseholme Kendal at 2.00pm. Everyone welcome whether an official church rep or not. Details of minutes of the last meeting and of the agenda can be found on the website .
Our ecumenical lent courses start on Wednesday, the first day of Lent. This year there are 2 strands (1) Using the Scripture Union course “Jesus’ Final Week” at 11.00 am on Wednesdays at KURC Highgate.(2) using material written by Tim Baynes on Social Justice, held at various venues and times. The most up to date details of both strands are on the website
Christian Aid collections in the area need a new organizer as Anne Handley is giving up after many years. As house to house collections with the red bags are a good way of bringing an obvious presence of Christianity into the streets it would be very sad if no on picks up the reins and continues this worthwhile work. There will be plenty of help. So if you yourself are the person or know a (wo)man who is then contact Martin Jayne or Anne Handley – replies through CTiKD hotmail will be forwarded; i.e. click the reply button on this email.

Diary dates:-

Wednesday February 10th 7.30pm Stricklandgate Methodist Church Kendal “Rwanda and the Power of God” with Archbishop Oneshore Rwaje and Andy Paine of Damascus Trust Ubushuie basketry and cards on sale
Friday March 4th 2.00pm “Women’s World Day of Prayer” at Stricklandgate Methodist Church Kendal
Wednesday March 9th 7.00pm in St Thomas’s Kendal church lounge – a Christian Aid workshop for collectors and others interested.

Best wishes

Anne Wilson chair CTiKD
