A prayer for opening up
God of good things
Highgate has looked pretty in the sunshine this week. We have been able to meet in spring gardens and drink take-away coffees with friends. The smell of chips on the breeze reminds us of all the good things in life that come from you.
We thank you for the success of the NHS vaccine programme which has got us this far. We’re especially grateful for the hard work and organisation of everyone involved locally at the Westmorland Shopping Centre and at Captain French Surgery.
As our town begins to open up a little we pray for all the shops and businesses and organisations in Kendal – especially on Highgate – as they come to terms with the next few weeks and months. Thank you for all they do to serve our community and to make it a vibrant place to live, work and shop. Open our hearts to support them as they move into this next stage of living differently.
God, some of us are joyful and excited about this next stage and some of us are worried and anxious. Remind us to take the time to listen to each other and to be gentle with each other.
Help us enjoy all the good things at the right pace for our whole community.
