A Highgate Prayer January 2021
Loving God
You know and love this street – all the way from the traffic lights by Oxfam to Highgate Vets and Bargain Booze. We pray for its people – for people who have to work, for people passing through, for people watching the empty street from their flat windows and for everyone who cannot be here because they are locked-down, shielding or ill and never thought they’d miss Highgate in the rain! We pray for us all.
Behind every grey wall, shining slate roof and dripping gutter, beyond every locked shop and darkened window, and in every place where work goes on to help and support our town there are warm and worried hearts. May your Spirit of love and hope flow through Highgate today and bring each of us the peace and comfort we need.
